Do you want a meaningful job where you make a real difference in people's everyday lives? We are now looking for 3 dedicated support assistants for our LSS group homes Lilla Källviken and service residence Stenbocksväg in Falu municipality. One of the positions also includes an opportunity for an extended role as a group leader.
The operations target individuals who belong to the LSS group and have permanent disabilities requiring extensive support in their daily lives. The work is carried out around the clock with revised on-call duty.
We operate under the Act on Support and Service for Certain Disabled Persons (LSS) – a rights law that aims to ensure good living conditions, participation, and self-determination. Our goal is for each individual to have the opportunity to live as independently and meaningfully as possible.
About the Group Homes
Both LSS residences consist of individual apartments with shared spaces and staffing around the clock.
Job Responsibilities
Support Assistant
As a support assistant, you work closely with the individual focusing on participation, independence, and quality of life. The work is varied, responsible, and developmental.
Your tasks include, among other things:
- providing support in daily living and personal care based on implementation plans
- motivating, supporting, and coaching in everyday situations, both at home and outside
- working with clarifying pedagogy for structure, predictability, and safety
- applying low-arousal responses in challenging situations
- using alternative and augmentative communication (AAC)
- documenting according to applicable legislation, guidelines, and routines
- collaborating with representatives, relatives, and licensed healthcare professionals
- performing delegated health and medical tasks
The work places high demands on flexibility, responsibility, and a professional approach.
Role as Group Leader
One of the positions includes an extended role as a group leader. This role is combined with work as a support assistant in the operation. As a group leader, you work closely with the unit manager and are their extended arm in daily operations. You contribute to developing the operations and ensure that routines, guidelines, and decisions are followed.
Your responsibilities include, among other things:
- working with scheduling, staffing, and staffing optimization
- managing absences, substitutes, and replacements
- performing delegated tasks from the unit manager
- collaborating on planning, follow-up, and operational support
- participating in a joint group leader team and, if necessary, supporting staffing issues for other operations.
A continuous group leader role requires a working degree of at least 75%.
Qualifications
For the role, the following is required:
- Care program or other education deemed equivalent by the employer
- Experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities within LSS, psychiatry, or SoL
- Good knowledge of low-arousal responses
- Good ability to work with documentation and implementation plans
- Good Swedish in speech and writing as well as good computer skills
- You need to be able to participate in and provide support during swimming in a chlorinated pool, as this is part of the activities
- Knowledge of AAC (sign language support, visual support, etc.)
For the group leader role, very good administrative skills and experience in scheduling and working with digital personnel systems such as Medvind, TES, Visma, and Office Suite are also required.
Personal Qualities
You are responsible, solution-focused, and have a professional and respectful approach. You work independently but also have good collaboration skills, are attentive and flexible, and have a coaching attitude.
Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability.
Interviews may occur continuously during the application period.
Employment Conditions
3 permanent positions and one temporary position for approximately 8 months. Start date by agreement.
Working hours include days, evenings, weekends, and on-call duty. Revised on-call duty applies, meaning that the entire on-call shift counts as working time.
In Falu municipality, the full-time employment agreement applies to all, where full-time is the norm with the possibility to annually request a degree of employment.
